Research assignment: pecunia non olet or pocket-sized Latin

guide

The aim is to decipher Roman coins (originals) from the imperial period with a magnifying glass, to determine the ruler and his official career and to interpret the “propaganda” on the reverse of the coin. This introduction to the work of a numismatist also provides the first contact with Latin texts that have been handed down on coins, tombstones and consecration altars. Part of Roman history comes to life again by dealing with the individual rulers.

An offer for history lessons at high schools, IGS + KGS. The Roman imperial period must have been discussed thematically in advance.
