The aquarium and terrarium animals at NaturWelten are recent living examples of the various vertebrate groups. By observing movement on living animals and with the help of fossil evidence, the specific characteristics of the individual classes of vertebrates and their development from walking on land to conquering the air or, secondarily, the water are identified.
