Back to overview Founder of Rome, special exhibition

who invented it…? the globalized world of antiquity

guide

The ancient world was connected! The tour provides an overview of the special exhibition “Founders of Rome” and focuses on the diverse relationships between ancient cultures. There is plenty of evidence of cross-regional exchange of goods, migration of skilled workers and the inclusion of other cultural elements for the Etruscans. Greek influences can be found in various areas of everyday life such as religion and ceramic design. The Etruscans even left their mark in ancient Rome: the first kings of Rome were Etruscans and overlaps can also be seen in the world of the gods. The charisma of the Mediterranean region even reached north of the Alps and can partly be traced back to Nordic design.
